Coming from the dry desert, we love the little bit of snow we get in Grundy. It usually only sticks
a few times per year, and only stays for a day or two. Yesterday was our first snow of the season, and Mckay and the big kids took full advantage of it. They played in our yard for over an hour (while me and Carter watched from the warmth of the front window) and built a nice sized snow man. When I thought for sure the kids would be cold and ready to come in McKay stuck his head in and asked if we could go build a snow man in the law school grass. He's wanted to do this since we first had snow there. It's sad to see all that snow, on nice level grass, go to waste. So, we put the snowy kids in the car and drove to the school where they played for another hour. It was fun to see Sydney and Jackson run back and forth on the grass. They were SO worn out and had great naps! Here are some pictures and a funny video of Sydney throwing a snow ball at Jackson. Poor guy!
On a side note, I've been putting off buying a swing or bouncer for Carter. I just didn't want to spend the money on it. I guess I thought once he was here and I had no where to set him down but on the floor I'd be motivated to buy something. Well, Mckay made my day when he went into the attic to get the Christmas tree and came down with our old bouncer and a box containing my boppy, and some play mat/floor toy stuff. I thought we'd given it all away when we moved here since Jackson was too old for it all. It's been so nice to have a place to put Carter when I'm making dinner, doing dishes, taking a shower, or any of the other millions of things that make it so I can't hold him 24 hours a day! He loves being upright and has started to stay awake for longer periods of time. Here he is chllin' in his bouncer.
Now for something crazy to think about...WE LEAVE FOR LAS VEGAS IN 4 DAYS!!! And that reminds me...I have LOTS to do!
